Jaded Blossom September challenge- Create Any Treat!!

It's time Jaded Blossom's September Challenge!

This months challenge is "Any Treat" and we are doing things a tad different with the stamp release this week. We are actually releasing this new die TODAY, August 31st  (available for purchase this afternoon along with the Gotta Have it Now Bundle and other "Fun Extras").
This die is NOT included in Septembers Stamp Release Bundle.
This die is from the creative mind of Barb Orvis - yeah that's me!!!

This die works as a topper die with insert for treats but also has another fabulous use.. The gray piece shown on the insert is used to create tabs inside your topper die so that you can slide different candy or treat items through it (or use it with gift cards).
Challenge Guidelines:
1) Project must be new for this challenge, no back linking
2) Project must have a Jaded Blossom stamp somewhere on it.
3) Only one entry per person
4) Link it up here by 9/21

Prize:
This month's prize for a randomly selected winner is:

Here is what I made for the challenge using the new Die..
I did a little treat card for all those summer baseball players.  I know when my son was playing hockey, we always had an end of season party and did special things to recognize the players.

I used the new Scallop slider die for the background and then inserted a 1x8 bag filled with M&M's through the slits. It's enough to add a slight bend to the background so it stands  up by itself.  The little Play Ball baseball player is in the SVG Cutting Files store.

I hope you will join us and link up your Fun project on the Jaded Blossom Blog. Please be sure you check out the challenge rules before linking.

While you're there, check out what the rest of the design team created. They are so extremely talented.

Of course we have our September Stamp Spotlight which just started TODAY!

Game Night will be $10.99 all month long (while supplies last)

Have a crafty day!!

This hop was another opportunity to add another recipe to my recipe album. The Swedish chef and his chickens were perfect for my chicken recipe.
The swedish chef and chickens are part of the free file for this hop.

I added a tag and sentiment from using the Jaded Blossom Candy Charms and Banners and the King of the BBQ stamp set.

I also added a skillet for the chicken to sit in. I cut this free hand.
I m trying to challenge myself to use some old supplies in my craft closet so pulled out the brown flocking for Chef's hair and mustache.

Of course my page needed some more color so I added some veggies from SVG Cutting Files Kawaii veggies.

.
These chickens with their purple eye shadow just crack me up!

Now here's how you get your free files-- please read carefully!

A special Anniversary

Hello there... hope everyone has big plans for the holiday weekend. I know for me, it will be a busy one.

A wonderful Aunt and Uncle recently celebrate a big milestone wedding anniversary so of course I needed to make a card.

I used a cut file from Miss Kate's Cuttables called Orange Blossom.
They were perfect since this couple spends time in Florida and knows all too well about orange trees.

The sentiment is stamped on a simple oval mat using a stamp from My Creative Time.

Enjoy the rest of the week. Be sure to stop back this weekend, I have lots of fun stuff I'm working in to share in time for the fall season!!

Best Friends Forever Blog Hop

Welcome to the Best Friends Forever Blog Hop!
We all have the One (ok, sometimes more than one) person we call our Best Friend. It's that person you can say anything to, laugh the hardest with, and cry without judgement.  For all you Besties...this hop is for YOU!
Today's hop is sponsored by SvgCuttingFiles and Jaded Blossom, so sit back, relax and enjoy the creations the team has made!
This Hop will be open for 48 HOURS (unlike our normal 24 hours)
it all ends PROMPTLY at 11:59 PST Saturday Aug 23rd. So if you want to get the free files we are using, please follow the guidelines below.

Being from Minnesota, Charlie Brown and his friends are iconic and therefore, my BFF SVG cut file I am using today is Snoopy and Woodstock.
Woodstock and Snoopy are best of friends even in the rain.

The cute gable box can be found in the  SvgCuttingFiles. I simply added some red paper to the top and a scalloped edge to make it look like Snoopy's doghouse. The sentiment is from the new JB Best Friends Stamp set and the die I used to stamp it on from the Jaded Blossom Mini Tag dies 2.

I also used the Jaded Blossom Spring Dies to add some grass around the bottom edge. Finally I sprayed some "Goosebumps" on the red roof to look like it has rain falling on it. Goosebumps is like Glossy Accents but in a spray bottle to get that dripping effect.

What is also exciting is that this hop has co-ordinating stamps from Jaded Blossom!

THESE files are only available to those that qualify and ends
PROMPTLY on Saturday August 23rd at 11:59 PST

A Whale of a Thank You.

Hello Everyone. A couple weeks ago I was on an Alaskan cruise with some friends.
We took a whale watching tour at one of the ports of call.

We didn't see as many whales as I would have hoped, but still cool to see the ones we did.

Below is a little tip envelope I did for Captain Dan, our tour guide and boat driver.

The whale was from the recent Save the Animals Blog hop.

Food Fare-Granola!

Happy Friday and that means it's Food Fare Friday! Today is also design day for me over at SVG Cutting Files.

The DT has been posting peaks at new files that were released in the store just today and I have one more called the Baker Girl.  It just screamed to be on a Food Fare recipe page.
My recipe today is homemade granola. I travel quite a bit and when I come across something I really like and enjoy, I tend to ask the chef for the recipe. Most times They are willing to share, Just have to keep in mind the recipe might be for 500 servings!

This granola recipe is great with yogurt or by itself for a snack. quite addicting actually.

I cute the Baker girl at 4.25" along with the little stove that comes with the file. I used the PKS In the Garden face stamps for her face and then doodled some freckles.

The title was done using the offset button in the Silhouette.

Give this recipe a try- you 'll love it!!

SVG Cutting Files Fall Challenge

Hi Everyone!  There is a new challenge at SVG Cutting Files, this month we want to see all those great Fall Color projects. Just remember, the project must include something from SVG Cutting Files.
Projects should be linked on the blog or Facebook Galleria Group by September 15. As always, there is a great prize up for grabs.
I was browsing the SVG Cutting Files store and came across a cute set of scarecrows. All three are cute, but I settled on this little guy and his crow.

I used several coordinating papers from Doodlebug and embossed the background before adding the scarecrow with some foam tape.
The sentiment is from the BugBites Autumn Splendor stamp set and the face is from Peachy Keen.

I hope you'll join us for this fun fall color challenge.

Tea for you!

It's design day for me over at Digi My World and today I have a fun little card that is a treat/gift as well to show you.

The digital image is a a version of the Mad Hatter from Alice in Wonderland and is just one of many images in this digital stamp set called Alice's Wonderland

I added him to the front of this super simple tea packet gift holder card.
I started with a piece of card stock that measures 10" wide by 3 3/8" tall. I scored it on the long edge at 3.25",  3.5" and 6.75".
I then cut away a triangle piece by cutting diagonally from the 10" lower corner up to the 6.75" score mark. Place a piece of score tape along the bottom edge of the triangle that remains and fold in to make a pocket for the tea bag. Fold along the other two score lines and the base is complete.

At this point, I secured a piece of ribbon across the front/back side of the card making sure to have enough extra to tie a bow.
After the ribbon was secure, I added a  yellow mat with a sentiment from My Creative Time and some gems along with my foam mounted Mad Hatter.

Insert your favorite tea bag and tie the little package up. I may need to make a bunch of these for some gals at work.

Hope you have a crafty day!

Hero in Disguise

Hello...well, I am back from vacation and now need to catch up with everything I missed this last week.

Who remembers Chuckles candies? Yes, you can still get them. Well, for my design team day project over  Jaded Blossom I created a little treat tag to go with those Chuckles candies.

When I hear Chuckles, I think of clowns, so I pieced together this cute clown found here.
The Jaded Blossom Treat Tag die was the base for my clown to rest upon.

The sentiment is from the Jaded Blossom  Super Hero Stamp set. I added some sparkle and washi tape for that whimsical look you would expect from a clown. Love that PKS face stamp as well.

I put my candies into a treat bag found here and tied it up with some twine and a button. It's ready to give and make someone smile.

Jaded Blossom August Release Blog Hop - Freshly Picked for you!

Hi Everyone! Welcome to Jaded Blossom's August 2014 Release Blog Hop.
Now if you're here from Jaime's Blog you're in the right place, if you're just passing thru start at the beginning because you don't wanna miss anything.  I also have the complete line up at the bottom.
I have a super cute arched window gable treat box to share with you today.
I printed and cut some wood grained paper so my treat box would have a rustic fruit stand look.
I embellished it with several cuts from the Kawaii Fruit svg file set from SVG Cutting Files.
I then did a simple print and cut for the labels of my plastic jars inside with the same images as the cut files. These cut files are not meant for  printing, however, I sized them really small as to not lose the quality of the image for my label. The plastic jars are filled with gummie fruit candies.
Finally, I added a die with my sentiment and a couple brads to finish off the treat box.
Here are the New release stamps and dies I used in today's hop project.

Jaded Blossom August Release Day 4 - You're Soda-lightful

Wow- the week is flying by and we're on day four of the August Jaded Blossom release week and another peak at yet another fun stamp set. This one is sure to be a hit especially for back to school season.

My project today is a bottle tag that I found in the SVG Cutting Files store here.

I used some digital paper form Pretty Paper, Pretty Ribbons here. I like how the circles look like bubbles and match the label on the bottle.

I stamped and colored the bottle before adding the sentiment onto a tag using the new Mini Tag Dies 2. A little twine and some bling and I had a little treat for a lover of Coca Cola. A nice little treat for a co-worker perhaps.

Here is a look at the whole stamp set being featured by the Design Team today.
