SKdigis Design Team Day.

Hello everyone. Well, it's been an  interesting week so far. I have survived my first hurricane in NYC this week.
My days are now busy with preparations of the ING NYC Marathon for Sunday.
The guys in my house are on their way to NYC to join me and to run the marathon on Sunday. Hoping for a nice and sunny day.

Now today is Design Team day over at SKdigis. Sonia has a new set of digis that are just released today and are waiting for you to play with. Here is one in time for the Fall season.
I just love this little turkey. I colored and cut the image using my cameo. I added a sentiment from the BugBites Autumn Splendor stamp set and some ribbon.

Please stop over and check out the other great DT projects using the awesome SKdigis images,

Have a great weekend!

Celebrate the Occasion challenge #86- Fall

Hope everyone is doing fine. I especially send me thoughts and prayers out to all of those on the east coast in the thick of hurricane Sandy.

I am writing this post from my hotel room in NYC. I am safe and sound in my room, but the wind is howling at the window.

Now, let's get to this weeks challenge. This week, the DT over at Celebrate the Occasion are  inspiring you all to make a card that represents Fall to you.

When I think of Fall, I think of the harvest of  fall vegetables and of course Thanksgiving. So here is my card.
Please join us this week and show us your fall inspired creation.

Here's how I did it...
A2 card base.
All paper from my stash
Cornucopia/layers cut at 3.5" and embossed

A Srappy fun time!

Here are some pictures of my projects for my scrap retreat weekend last week. The theme was Scrapping on Broadway.

Each attendee got a paper bag "Playbill" with challenges to complete. Once all challenges were completed, not only did they have at least 12 scrapbook pages done, they also won a prize. Here are some pictures of the inside of the book.

I even made my own scratch off cards for this special extra challenge
tucked inside a pocket
Swimmer cut file from Pretty Paper. Pretty Ribbons SVG files

Each attendee also got little treats each evening as well.

filled with candies

filled with candies- file from SVGcuts

Caramel apple suckers inside these. the cut file is from Lettering delights

This was a clear pillow box I willed with candies and CM chalks
Shopping bag covered with paper and filled with an I "heart" NY t-shirt.
The topper tutorial can be found here.

So this is what has been taking all my time the last several weeks. It all takes tie when you are making everything in quantities of 10!

I do enjoy doing this and have such a wonderful time with thees gals.

DT day with Pretty Paper, Pretty Ribbons

Wow- only about a week away from Halloween. Where are the days going.

Today is Design Team day over at Pretty Paper, Pretty Ribbons. I am so excited to be apart of this team. I just love creating with all the super cute images that Lisa has in her store.

I am slowly making progress with my Halloween cards. This one is so super cute.
I used the witch cut file from the Monster Mash set. I used the print and cut feature on my Cameo. I cut a few of the parts a second time to pop them up for dimension.

I printed the pattern papers from the Halloween Bats & Swirls  and Halloween Circles & Spots digi packs for my background mats.

I added a web border with my Martha Stewart punch and some ribbon from my stash. The sentiment tag is cut from the Sentiment Spots 1 set which is FREE right now. Yes, I said Free!
I cut the tag twice, added some brads and a sentiment from my BugBites Ghostly Greetings stamp set.
The bat was just a 3D sticker from my stash.

These files are so super easy to work with. Be sure to hop over to the PPPR Blog today to see the other awesome projects the DT has done. they are truly amazing.

It's Fall Y'all!

Yes, indeed it is the fall season. The leaves are almost totally off our trees now and the temps keep dropping little by little. I am still downloading pictures from my scrapbook retreat weekend. They will be here soon.

Whimsie Doodles is hosting a challenge this week that is all about fall. I have to admit this is my first entry to any of their challenges- [gasp!].
However, I could not pass it up when I saw a free digi announcement on their Facebook page last week for this adorable image. This little boy is about the cutest thing ever.
I printed and colored him with copic markers. I didn't intend to cut him out, but when coloring some grey around the edge went wrong, I had to come up with a solution. I think this option turned out pretty good. I bent the tops of the rake forward to look like the curved ends of a real rake.

I think this goes nicely with one of the sentiments from my Autumn Splendor stamp set as well.

Now if you missed out on the free download of this image, you can still pick it up in the Whimsie Doodles store. How could anyone resist!

Here's how I did it...
A2 card base in brown card stock
Pattern paper from American Crafts Pumpkin Patch 6x6 paper pack
All other paper form my scrap box
Leaves cut using My Creative Time Piles of Smiles stamp and Die set
Sentiment from BugBites Autumn Splendor stamp set
Crinkle Ribbon from my stash

Pretty Paper, Pretty Ribbons Halloween Blog Hop!

Welcome to the Pretty Paper Pretty Ribbons Halloween Blog Hop. I am so excited to be a part of this Design Team and Hop. Wow, what inspiration for the Halloween season.
If you came here from Nicole's blog, you are in the right place. If you just stumbled upon this post and would like to start from the beginning, please visit Lisa's blog.

Today the DT for Pretty Paper, Pretty Ribbons are making Halloween projects using Pretty Paper, Pretty Ribbons files.

For my project I tried a new card type called a treat dish card. I used Lisa's Halloween Critter's cut files and the following digi papers...Halloween Paper Pack 2, Halloween Chevron and Stripes, and Halloween Circles and Spots.

I used the print and cut feature on the Cameo. I also cut the body and feet a second time and popped them up for more dimension. Each spider then was attached on top of the web with a wobble.
The fence border is done with a Martha Stewart border punch and the sentiment is from my BugBites Ghostly Greetings stamps set.
I made 10 of these treat cards for my scrappin' friends at my retreat this weekend.
Lisa's files are so simple to use and are sooooo cute!!!!

Now for hopping along with us, we have some blog candy to give away. First, Lisa is giving away this big hop prize package, and i mean big. Look at all this stuff she is giving away...wow!

Celebrate the Occasion Challenge #84- Bday card

Happy Tuesday everyone. Today kicks off another Celebrate the Occasion challenge. Challenge #84 is to make a birthday card for a guy and it must be a tall card. I know we all struggle with the guy cards, but it really isn't as hard as you think.

Floppy Latte Designs is a sponsor this month, so I decided to use one of their digis for my card today called Fishy Note.

I printed the digi on pattern card stock and then used my copics to color the bubbles and the note. I extended the fish line with my black marker.

The fish and sea weed are svg files found in the silhouette store. My card measures 4.25" wide by 8.5" tall.

I hope to see your male inspired birthday cards this week. I find so much inspiration from all of you.

Have a great week.

SKdigis Challenge-Shaped card

Today is another kick off for a SKdigis challenge. The challenge this week is make a shaped card, any shape, but no rectangles or squares.

My card is a version of an octagon. I meant to make a hexagon, but not sure how I was counting when I cut this base card. it clearly haseight sides not six..LOL!

I used one of my favorite SKdigis images, Little Frankenstein. I opened him in the Silhouette Design software and sized him to 4". I then traced him to separate all the parts so I could cut them out of my scraps of paper. He goes brilliantly with my sentiment from the BugBites Ghostly Greetings stamp set.

The base cards was cut from the CTMH Art Philosophy cart at 5.5".

This is an easy peasy challenge so I hope you will join us this week. Stop by and see what other inspiring projects the DT has come up with as well.

Melisa's Crafty Creations Blog Hop

Happy Friday!!!!
Today I am helping my blog friend, Melisa, celebrate her 1 year anniversary of her blog, Melissa's Crafty Creations.  All the blogs in the line up have come up with a fall inspired projects whether it's autumn leaves, apple picking or even Halloween not to mention, lots of blog candy along the way.

So, if you've come from Annette's blog, you're in the right place. If you would like to start from the beginning, click here.

I recently downloaded some SVG files from svgcuts for Halloween treat containers. I couldn't resist the Witch hat.

The hat measures about 7" tall and the top pulls off to reveal a small box for small treats. I think it looks great just sitting on my desk for the spooky season.
I added a tag with a sentiment from my BugBites Magic Spells stamp set. I added a few buttons and gems as well.

Next stop on the hop is Candace

Before you go, leave me a comment and be a follower. Then on Monday, I will draw one lucky winner for their choice of a BugBites Magic Spells or BugBites Ghostly Greetings stamp set.

In case you get lost along the way here is the entire line up!

Bushels of fun with PPPR

Today is Design Team day over at Pretty Paper, Pretty Ribbons. Lisa has some super cute fall svg files. Apples are a fall favorite when it comes to baking for me, apple cake, apple crisp, well, you get the idea.
I had fun making this shaped card with a cut file from the Apple Picking set. It was so super simple. I popped up the front apples with some foam tape. I added some twine for handles to the basket and finally added a sentiment from one of my favorite BugBites stamp sets, Autumn Splendor.

This card was sized to fit in an A2 envelope. The card base was cut from kraft card stock which adds to the rustic look.

Stop on over to Pretty Paper, Pretty Ribbons to see what the rest of the DT has done.
Now if you don't use svg files, check out the clipart versions. You can great great projects with the same designs as clip art. Nothing special needed except a printer.

If you have projects you have done with PPPR files, drop me a note with a link, I would love to visit and see your project.

SKdigis Challenge #5 Spooky Nights

Happy Monday everyone. hope you all had a great weekend.
Today is the kick off of another great challenge over at Skdigis.
This week the challenge is "Spooky Nights"- create a project with a SKdigis image, must include a ghost.

Here is my fun "ghostly" card.
Not very spooky because this little ghost looks way to friendly. But, what I love about this little ghost is that Sonja designed him specially for my new stamp set, Ghostly Greetings. He's such a friendly ghost.

I learned how to do this starburst effect from Katie over at Crafting with Katie. She has a great video tutorial on how to do it here.

Now if you  like this friendly ghost, you can get your own Ghostly Greetings stamp set now, found on the right side bar of my blog.
Or, you can link up a project this week over at SKdigis for a chance to win a set. I hope you will join us for this fun challenge this week. I will be watching to see what you create!.

Here's how I did it...
A2 card base
Pattern papers from my stash
Starburst cut using the pie chart svg file from the silhouette store
House cut from Create a Critter 2 cartridge
Exclusive SKdigis Ghost image stamped and fussy cut from BugBites Ghostly Greetings stamp set
Sentiment form BugBites Ghostly Greetings stamp set

It's a Fang-tastic day!

It's already Wednesday- were do the days go.

I have a cute card today using the Sesame Street Elmo and Friends Holiday cart. I rarely use it but should look at it more often. It has so many more things on it than just Sesame Street characters.

But today, it's all about the Count!
I love this sentiment because it is so perfect for so many Halloween cards. It's from the BugBites Magic Spells stamp set. You can purchase it on the right side of my blog.
