Happy Independence Day!

I've been working on some last minute holiday cards to celebrate
the U.S. Independence day.

I see that watercolor backgrounds are all the rage in card making these days.

Therefore, I have been playing around with water and inks to see what technique I like best or gets the  results that actually are usable vs those where the color all runs together to look like I rubbed mud on the paper.

I don't have watercolor paint or pencils so limited to my Tim Holz inks and color burst powder in my stash.

I got three 4x6 pieces of red and blue color backgrounds that I felt were usable. One I used watercolor paper and the other two just plain white card stock

I sliced and diced these pieces into to smaller pieces to use it all up to make 6 cards. Actually,  I still have a few tiny snippets left that I am challenging myself to see if I can get one more card done.

The uncle Sam stamp is one from Stampendous that I purchased at Michael's a few years go for only $2. one of my favs in my stash.

Here's a list of what I used....

Happy Fourth of July!

Wishing everyone a wonderful and safe 4th of July.

Here are the last few cards I did this year.
I used a digital stamp I had in my collection. Sorry- cannot remember where I got it right now.
I colored it on the silhouette and then did a print and cut.

I used the dame digit image for the cards below. I used a card design from JB designer, Candace. You can see her card here that I used for inspiration. I love this design she did.
I used the JB tags dies 2, card mat dies and celebrate america stamp set once again.

Patriotic Kisses

Happy 4th of July! I have a few treats that I did for some friends and neighbors this weekend.

The first one is using the 4th of July theme wrapped chocolate kisses.
I did a simple treat topper using the JB Scallop Slider and Topper Die.
I added a poem from the JB Celebrate America stamp set and finished it off with 4th of July svg  from Miss Kate's Cuttables.

The next treat is a krispie treat pop. I put store bought krispie treats on paper straws. Then dipped them in white chocolate so I could add colored candies and sprinkles.
Once the chocolate hardened, I wrapped them in treat bags tied with a bow and tag.
The tag is made using the Pretty Papper, Pretty Ribbon Layered Tags 2 and Fantastic Fireworks svg files and sentiment from the JB Celebrate America stamp set.

Hope you enjoy the lovely weekend.

Let Freedom Ring!

The holiday weekend has officially begun.

One of the very first files I ever used from SVG Cutting files is this Chibi Uncle Sam
It's still a favorite today and I seem to use it every 4th of July for cards and treats.

This year I did a shape card.

I used a sentiment from the JB celebrate america stamp set and stamped it on a banner using the JB Dimensional Banner Dies
The papers are all from Doodlebug.

Getting Ready for the 4th of July!

I've been working on some 4th of July cards this week. I am using one of my favorite images from SVG Cutting Files, Chibi Statue of Liberty.
I used traditional red, white, and blue papers which are a bit non-traditional
colors for the Statue of Liberty but I think it works.

Here are two card versions using this cut file.

All papers are printed using Echo Park Sweet Liberty digital papers.
The sentiment is from My Creative Time My Little Firecracker

This card I used digital papers once again but this time they were from Echo Parks 4th of July paper  I also used the Jaded Blossom Flag Die for the banner strips.

Have a crafty day!!

Let's Glow!

Wow- the 4th of July is only a couple days away. We waited so long for warm summer days and now it's going to fast!

I came across this tube of glow necklaces and bracelets at the grocery store of all places.
A simple tag and I have a safe treat on the eve of the 4th of July for the neighbor boy.

I used the Jaded Blossom Treat Tag die for the base of my tag.

I used the Jaded Blossom Celebrate America stamp set to make my own subway art sentiment on the tag and finished it off with a print and cut rocket from Pretty Paper Pretty Ribbons here
