Organizing my recipes

I have been meaning to organize all the recipe scrap pages that I have for quite a while now...As I do a page or participate in a recipe swap, I just slip the new page into one of the albums I have. Makes it hard to find a recipe later without paging through all the albums.

I have been purchasing the Pioneer 8x8 photo albums that I can slip my 8x8 page layouts into. The album comes with a plastic sleeve to protect the album itself from kitchen spills.

I decided I would do an album for each food category that I mostly have recipes for and did cute little cover inserts so I can easily find my recipes now. I am  happy with how they turned out.
Some of my recipes can be found under the Food Fare link.

Most of the cuts/titles are from the Cricut carts From My Kitchen and Country Life with a few things from Freshly Picked and Pooh and Friends.

Warm Apple Pie and Picnics!

This card makes me wish for fresh apple pie with cinnamon ice cream.
I wanted this to look like a pie sitting in an open window on a warm summer day. The wood grain paper helps the perception of the trim around the window.

Once cool it is ready for a picnic or friends that may stop over.

I will be linking this up to the Let's Eat Challenge on the Cricut Circle Blog. The challenge is to create a project with a BBQ, Picnic, or Patio theme and use a gingham or check patterned.

Here's how I did it...
Standard A2 card
Paper from my stash
Sentiment from Scrappy Mom Stamps
Pie/layers cut at 3.5" from Country Life, p 77
Frame from Create a critter sized to fit on my Gypsy

Food Fare Friday!!

Happy Friday. It is time for another Food Fare Friday.
This week is a new recipe my BFF came across. It is one of the best recipes and so simply, especially for summer when you don't want to heat up the oven.
Hope you give it a try and let me know what you think.

Paper is from my stash, used an EK border punch and little pigs from the Country Life Cart on page 40

Have a great Friday everyone!!

Just chicken in!

Hey everyone!
I haven't posted in a few days. My real job has had me quite busy not to mention everyday life.
I have been working on a few things which you will see posted over the next couple of weeks.

It's a gray, rainy day here in MN so that means I get to scrap all day. Yeah!
There are so many challenges that I want to catch up on so we will see what creative juices are flowing today.

I made the following card this morning for Patti and Linda's My Creative Sisters Challenge: Barnyard Theme and Delightful challenges.

Chicken/layers cut at 2.25" from Country Life, p.43
Embossed the green with Cuttlebug folder Distressed Stripes

Food Fare Friday - Apples

I have decided to Start an official post at least one Friday a Month called Food Fare Friday. I am working on a way for you all to participate as well, so watch for that in the next couple of months.

As you can see at the top of the blog, I have a link called Food Fare. This is where you will find all the Food Fare posts past and present. If at anytime, you want a readable version of the recipe, just send me a note. I love to share recipes. All Food Fare pages are 8x8.

I had this recipe in my recipe cupboard for a while. It was a photo copy with no name, so I am not sure where I got it from.I don't remember having tried it and have never made it. I decided to tray it at a scrap retreat in January. It's always fun to try new recipes with friends. It was really easy and you probably have the ingredients you already have in your pantry. I hope you give it a try and let me know if you like it.

Here's how I did it...
Apple paper/red paper from Creative Imaginations
All other paper from my scrap stash
Apples/layers cut at 4" from Country Life Cartridge, p. 53
Letters cut at 1" from Nate's ABCs
Vine welded 3 times and cut at 1" from Elegant Cake art cartridge
Sentiment from TPC Studio stamp set
Chalked all cuts

It has been a crazy couple days. My job had me out of the office all of yesterday, today I had several conference calls, and tonight I am trying to pack my scrap stuff and make some snacks and soup for a scrapbook weekend with a couple friends. They will be here Thursday morning to pick me up at 9am. Yikes- still so much to do.

I have had a few challenges that I wanted to participate in. So, I pulled out my Gypsy and picked a few cuts, then tried to put them together for a cute valentine card.  Here is what I came up with.
