Organizing my recipes

I have been meaning to organize all the recipe scrap pages that I have for quite a while now...As I do a page or participate in a recipe swap, I just slip the new page into one of the albums I have. Makes it hard to find a recipe later without paging through all the albums.

I have been purchasing the Pioneer 8x8 photo albums that I can slip my 8x8 page layouts into. The album comes with a plastic sleeve to protect the album itself from kitchen spills.

I decided I would do an album for each food category that I mostly have recipes for and did cute little cover inserts so I can easily find my recipes now. I am  happy with how they turned out.
Some of my recipes can be found under the Food Fare link.

Most of the cuts/titles are from the Cricut carts From My Kitchen and Country Life with a few things from Freshly Picked and Pooh and Friends.

More Holiday Greetings

Well, I told you I would be catching up with posting today.. so here is another card I sent out this week.
This is an SVG file I found over at Creating with Carolina. She was nice enough to share the file with me. The sentiment is from Close To My Heart.
It's almost time to open gifts.

It's Christmas- Oh My!

Well, it's Christmas Eve- I can't believe where the time goes. Just took some gooey caramel monkey bread from the oven so the house smells really good right now. Can't wait for it to cool so we can eat it. It's the beginning of two days of lots of food.

Here are a couple more cards I did for the holidays. Trying to use some of the stamps I have in the drawer. I remember when I got this stamp- it was last year at a small stamp shop in NYC. It was a very tiny shop, but they had tons of stamps. She looks like she is taking a break from baking Christmas Cookies.
This next card is very simple using the Cricut Lite cart, Jolly Holidays. I can't take credit for the design. This was a quick card that Helen over at Cricut Crafting Room did last year. But it was so cute and simple, I had to replicate it.

Have a wonderful day filled with gifts and cookies.

Food Fare Friday

I am always on the look out for good gluten free recipes for my aunt. I came across this wonderful pumpkin cake recently and made it for Thanksgiving dinner so she could have pumpkin with the rest of us. We both liked it and when she asked for the recipe, I just had to do it as a recipe scrap page. After all, she is a die-hard scrapper like me.
I am really trying hard to use my Imagine more and more, so the background paper ( 8x8) and all the images are printed and cut from Imagine cartridge from Kate's Kitchen. The border across the top is from Imagine More. A little ribbon and some doodles with my gel pen and it was ready to drop in the mail to my aunt.

Enjoy!

Happy Holidays!

Well, I bet you thought I fell of the edge of the earth. That darn thing they call a "job" just keeps getting in the way of what is really important, my blog!!

In between long work days the last few weeks, I scrambled to get my holiday cards, gifts and baking done. I didn't go crazy like I've done in the past, but feel good about what I have gotten done before this weekend.

So I am going to try and catch up on some posting today and tomorrow. It will be a fairly quiet Christmas at our house, just the three of us. Kinda looking forward to sitting on the couch watching Christmas movies and drinking hot chocolate, with a splash of Irish Cream of course.

Ok- so here are a couple cards I sent out this year.

I came across this idea about a year ago on the web here. What a great card and mini gift idea.

This card measures 5" square and has the little pocket for a little gift. The gift being a magnet for your fridge or maybe file cabinet at work.
For the holidays I decide on the cute little skater from Winter Frolic. I cut her at 4" then added the magnet on the back.

I just had to add stickles to her little hat, gloves and skates. How about that face, makes ya just giggle with her.. The face is from PKS Happy Lashes, one of my favorite stamp sets ever. I am going to link this up to their blog for the PKS designers choice challenge this week. The sentiment is from Pink by Design.
Also going to link up to Our Creative Corner challenge.

Next up is this jolly snow family card. I picked this new stamp up at the local craft store using a 40% off coupon. Still working on my coloring skills, but had fun anyway.

I will be back again later with some more holiday cards I did this week.

Cool Holiday Gift Item

I am not sure how I came across this website, but I think it is very cool and wanted to share it with you.

http://blog2print.sharedbook.com/blogworld/printmyblog/index.html

It's a website where you can print your blog into book format. There are options fro paper back or hardcover. Even customize the cover.
Just a few clicks and the book is ready to order.
It would be a very cool and special gift to give someone a printed copy of their blog or give a copy of your blog.

It is also a great idea to archive your own blog.

Just had to share with you.

Happy Holidays

Happy Wednesday everyone.

Here is another card using the Treasurebox Designs SVG.

Cuttlebug and Snowflakes

Back in October, I mentioned that my Cuttlebug had decide to take a break.. literally, BREAK!
It was a pretty sad day and until now I have been without the power to emboss.

In desperate times, I even tried to force the plates and embossing folders through the rollers by just giving it a good shove. Needless to say, that took a lot more muscle power than was expected.

My friend, the smart gal she is, suggested I put the poor little bug in the hospital and schedule some surgery.
Into the op room we went, and once the little guy was opened up, I discovered one of the gears had fallen off. Fortunately, I found the little screw that keeps it on. So I stuck it back in place, put the bug back together and I am back in embossing business! Who knew  I was a closet engineer.

Cardz TV has a challenge going, S cards; make a card with an image that starts with "s" which brings me to  my card today. There were snow flurries in the air today, so this card seemed to be perfect for the day.

This little snow boy is an svg file from Treasurebox Desings Winter Wonderland set.I just love the little face. Treasure box has face stamps that work well with most of their files, so it made making this sweet face really easy. Just a few extra white accents really make it cute.

Here's how I did it...
Base card using kraft paper, 6"x6"--all other paper from my scrap box
Blue stamp mat cut at 5.25"
Twine from Twinery
Sentiment from Scrappy Moms Stamps

Yahoo! I got to craft in my scrap room today!

Thanksgiving is over and we're on the fast track to Christmas. My goodness, time is going fast.
Since my last post, I have been working some long hours at work which leaves little time to do anything else at night. Not to mention all the holiday stuff going on.

Last Sunday I baked cookies with my friends so I have almost all my holiday baking done. We also put up our holiday lights outside and got the Christmas tree up. Just finished putting on the ornaments tonight. Still need to hang the tinsel.

For those of you that are Scandinavian,  you will know what Lefsa is. If not, it is a potato base dough that is chilled overnight and then divided into small portions and rolled really thin the next morning. It is then fried on a flat griddle served up with butter and sugar. Well, I made 2 dozen pieces this morning. That may not sound like a lot, but it takes time rolling each piece really thin.

That left this afternoon for me to finally get some crafting done.

I am so far behind with challenges, but did see that Peachy Keen has a sketch challenge and Robin at  Robin's Creative Cottage has posted her very first challenge.

So here is my first holiday card of the season....yes, I am WAY behind!
I have a few more cards to share, tomorrow with you.

Here's how I did it...
Paper all from my stash -the stripe paper is really sparkly with all the glitter on it.
Santa/layers cut 3" from Simply Charmed
Face stamped using PKS simple Simon face stamps and the mustache from their accessories stamp set
Stickles on nose and beard.
Twine from Twinery
Ribbon from Stampin Up

Food Fare Friday!

It seems odd, to be doing a Food Fare Friday after eating all the wonderful food on Thanksgiving.
Hope everyone had a fantastic Thanksgiving and you all are finding great deals on this Black Friday.

I have to admit I am not a huge Black Friday shopper, but did find myself at Wal-Mart last night at 10pm. Took my aunt to get her very own Imagine!! We braved an hour drive and the crowds to stake our claim on one for her. Love being on a mission that is successful.

So onto my Food Fare Friday.
This is one of my all-time favorite recipes that I make often and so simple. So simple even my husband has made it!

I used the fantastic PKS stamps for the penguin faces. PKS has a challenge going on that requires a recipe. If you like recipes, check the cvn challenge out as well as the projects link up for some great recipes. I just love this cute background paper I found.

A fall project

Now that I got my software issue resolved, I could finish a project.

This little fall plaque cost me a big $1.89 plus a few little things from my stash.
The wood plaque is 5.5" square and was only $1 and the paper was .89 from American Crafts. Paper was a double sided sheet with 4 prints on one side which included the little border title. The rest was all little scraps from my scrap box.

The scarecrow is from SVGCUTS.com Autumn Cuddly Friends collection. I added a little twine from the Twinery and some raffia for straw under the scarecrows hat. The face is from Peachy Keen.

Linking this project up over at Little Scrap Pieces

Good News!!!

I figured out my issue with my SCAL files. It was as simple as upgrading my SCAL 2 software. I was nervous about doing this because I did not want to lose the option to still cut with my Cricut. I am happy to say the upgrade worked and I was able to cut an image successfully-Yeah!!

Sure Cuts Alot help!!!

Hey everyone-- well it is snowing here in MN. I did get outside early this morning in the cold to rake up some leaves in my flower beds that I had been putting off. Just finished up as the snow began to fall.

So now that the snow is falling, I put a pumpkin cake in the oven and was going to sit down and try out some new SVG files I found out at MyScrapchick.com and Treasure Box Designs.

Now here lies the problem. I downloaded and unzipped the files all fine. I then imported the svg file into Sure Cuts A Lot.

NOW--I click the image to ungroup the pieces so I can move them on the mat to cut the different layers. But the ungroup button is grayed out not allowing me to separate anything.

I have been online looking for any solution to this for the last 90 minutes. I find several people have the same issue but do not see where anyone has provided a solution.

Has anyone out there had this issue and found a solution.

I have tried to trace the file and bring it in that way and still no option to ungroup.

I have scal 2.005

So Blogger friends, I am reaching out to you for some much needed help...

I'm back, well, sorta

Wow- seems forever since I did a post. I am glad to finally be back in my scrap space doing a little crafting today. the first week of November I was in NYC until this past Tuesday working. I was there for the ING NYC Marathon. I was there with some colleagues and we are all part of the planning team for ING. It was a busy week taking care of all runners and guests. Once I got home, it took until today to catch up on  my sleep. My job requires some long ours when I travel.

There are many things to do during race week not to mention loads of things to do in NYC! One of the things on the schedule was a "Dash for the Finish Line" 5K fun run on Saturday before Marathon Sunday. It was an opportunity to run down some of the busiest streets in NYC as well as run the last part of the actual marathon course finishing at the marathon finish line!

So, myself, and colleagues, Linda and Sheila took a break from the work schedule that morning for a 45 minute run. Though I am not a person that enjoys running all that much, I did find this run very cool. Way to go girls on a great run!

Robin over at My Pink Stamper has a blog hop and challenge going this weekend. The challenge is to do a scrapbook page or photo album project. So here is my scrapbook page of the NYC 5K run.
Yup- I have a couple spots for 2 more photos.  I need to order them from the race so when I get them I can just glue them in place.

I used Lacy Labels for the tabs on the pictures and the All Sports cart for the runners.

The sentiments on the photo tabs are all from MPK Sport-tastic stamp set.

I would love to hear if any of you were in NYC for the marathon last week and if you ran the marathon.
If you did, Congratulations, it is quite an accomplishment.
I congratulate my husband, he ran his 5th NYC marathon last weekend. Here we are at the finish line.

I hope to get a few more little things done today...My job is taking me to Phoenix, Arizona tomorrow until Wednesday. So I hope to craft a few things tonight that I can post tomorrow from the hotel.

Enjoy the weekend everyone and hop over to My Pink Stamper for that great blog hop!

Another challenge card

Well, it is Tuesday night and I am in NYC for the week. I won't have much time to post this week, so I have this Birthday card I made yesterday between packing things to show you tonight.

Hope this happy little card brings a smile to every one's face.

Especially those on the east coast without power and heat. I have many friends there and know they are all dealing with a frustrating situation there right now.
I wish them all the best and a safe week.

Getting Ready for Turkey Day

Yes, I know, it isn't even Halloween yet. But never too early to start on those Thanksgiving day cards. I was inspired by the Scrappy Moms Stamp Challenge to dust off the Doodlecharms cart for a project. I don't use this cart as much as I should, but it clearly is a good standby. A great selection of cuts. I think this was my second cartridge I ever owned.

Enjoy what is left of the weekend.

My Creative Time DT entry

Hey all-- I wasn't sure I would have time to do an entry for Emma's DT call but I couldn't stop thinking about it and how awesome it would be to be a part of her team and work with her to showcase her fantastic stamps.

I have a few stamp sets from Emma, but not nearly all that I want. You can bet, they are on my xmas list.
I was going to do a card using the new banner kit, it is just so cute and fun, but I am sad to say, my cuttlebug has experienced a life  ending injury, therefore, I did not have a way to use her banner dies at the moment.

So I pulled out all the Creative Time stamps I had for inspiration. I found this cute sentiment that really says it all. I am not a coffee person, but give me a good cup of hot chocolate and I'm there.

Have a great weekend.

Food Fare Friday and a Challenge entry

Hey all you friendly bloggers.... so sorry I have been missing from my blog the last week. Work is just crazy  for me right now. Not a lot of spare time.
My blog and Cricut are feeling a bit neglected. I am sad to say it probably is going to be that way the next week.
I am traveling all next week to NYC...too bad that little portable Cricut isn't out yet.

So this afternoon, I am taking a few minutes to post this wonderful fall pumpkin recipe.
If you saw the last posts about my scrapbook retreat weekend, you will remember my friend Erin made a pumpkin desert for dinner one night. I scrapped the recipe to exchange with all the gals.

I used Paper Doll Dress up for the pumkin, Maratha Stewart Seasonal Cake Art for the grass and Pop-Up Neighborhood for the corn stalks
The super cute Scare-crow is an SVG file from MyScrapchicks.com.
I ran the grass through my crimping tool for more dimensions.

I am also going to link this up to the Cooking with Cricut sketch challenge this week.

Have a great weekend.

Fantabulous Cricut Challenge Me Monday # 83 - Spooky Time

Happy Monday everyone. It is back to work today. But before we start the day, it is time for another FCCB Challenge Me Monday Challenge. This week, we are looking for your Spooky projects with a ghost on it.

For my little card I used the Paper Doll Dress Up cart for the ghost and the cat. Finally used  my new Creative Time Bingo stamp set, and the Maratha Stewart web punch.

Was pretty quick to put together.

I hope to see your "Ghostly" project over at FCCB this week.

Saturday and Still scrappin'

Well, tonight is always the part of a scrapbooking weekend that I like the least--it means tomorrow I need to pack up and go home.

Yesterday, all my gals receive a little snack in the middle of the day..not that we didn't already have enough snacks, but who can turn down M&M's.
I found the template online for this great test tube box.
Then on their pillow before going to bed, they each received a BugBites Magic Spells stamp set.

I also made little books with "Magic Spells", really just 10 challenges to complete over the weekend. I made the books with my mini Your Story Machine.
If they do all the challenges they get a prize. The Prize....a new Cricut cartridge!

Gotta go- I still want to get a few more page layouts done tonight!

C360 Spooky Halloween Blog Hop Winner

Sorry for the delay in announcing the winner of the BugBites Magic Spells stamp set for leaving a comment on my post for the Cricut 360 Blog Hop.

I have been having lots of fun with my friends at my scrapbook retreat.  We just finished dinner and exchanged recipes. We did a fall recipe exchange- everyone did 10 copies of an 8x8 page layout with a favorite fall recipe. So Now I have 9 new recipes to try. Mine was a Pumpkin Pecan Dessert, which we had for dessert tonight. My friend Erin made it for us. Doesn't it look yummy! Way to go Erin!

Ok- so on to the winner---it is

Tracy from Owl Be Craftin' said...Very cute! I love the spider web paper!

Congrats Tracy!

It is Friday!!!

Oh my - what a week. I am glad it is Friday. Been working quite a bit even though I was suppose to be on vacation since Wednesday.
Thanks goodness for a couple great co-workers that have helped me out greatly!

So as of last night I was 90 minutes from home at a wonderful scrapbooking retreat home. Myself, along with 9 other gals are making a weekend of scrapping. I have planned lots of fun challenges and will be awarding prizes throughout the weekend. I did not go to sleep until after 2:30am this morning. Just had to finish a page layout.

So upon arrival, my gals were greeted with a goody bag of treats and a book of challenges to complete. If they complete the challenges, they win a big prize.More on that later.

Each gal gets a 6 foot table. My theme is Magic Spells, basically Halloween theme.
Here is how I marked the tables so they would know where they would be scrapping for the weekend.
I then also marked the bedrooms for where they would be sleeping. Here are my door markers.....

Each night, I surprise my gals with a little treat. This was the treat Thursday night. It was filled with candies, a gel pen and small bottle of Glossy Accents.

The box is a cut file from MyScrapChick.com

I will be back in a bit announcing the winner of the Spooky Halloween Blog Hop Give A Way.
