Live in the Moment-at the Beach!

Well, the weather is hot. I mean HOT here in MN. We can get some pretty warm days, but this is crazy. So, guess that's why I was thinking of the beach when I did this card.
It's design team day over at Pretty Paper, Pretty Ribbons and am so excited to be able to cut this PPPR tri-fold shutter card with one click of the mouse and my Cameo. Sure beats all the measuring and making sure to line the cuts up with the score lines in order for it to fold together correctly. I know you guys  out there know what I mean.
I recently invested in a new color printer to use with the Cameo but have been too busy to really play with it much until this week. I designed my card in the Silhouette software and then used the print and cut feature for all the parts. No paper piecing-gasp! LOL, not a chance. Even the print and cut feature allows for piecing.

For the shell borders, I group the shells how I wanted them printed and cut them out. I did the same for the sand castle.

Now we start getting crazy. The umbrella, sun and pail I printed and cut the entire image but then also printed and cut additional parts of the image so I could add them with foam tape for dimension. It's hard to see in this photo, but i did this for the sun, umbrella, shovel and sand.

It looks like I used a lot of files for this but really only used two, Tri-fold Shutter Card and the Day at the Beach file set.

Today's Challenge over at Die Cuttin' Diva's  is Just Because.
I thought this cute little lady bee from SVG Cutting Files was so cute and was perfect for a "Just Because" card.
The card base is also from SVG Cutting Files here. I added some gems and a sentiment using the Jaded Blossom Candy Charms and Bug Candies stamp set.

"Bee" sure to stop by the Die Cuttin' Diva's blog this week to see the DT inspiration projects and link a project. You don't want to miss these fantastic projects they have done for you.

One Cool Hombre Dip

Happy Monday!
I have been on a role with recipe pages for my cookbooks recently and wanted to share one I did using Stamp Annie Thing stamps in the design.
The stamps set I decided on was the  One Cool Hombre stamp set because it was perfect for my Taco Dip recipe.

I used several stamps from this set.
First I stamped the buildings onto burlap paper at the bottom of my page.
Then I stamped the cactus, colored it with my copics and hand cut around it.
Next I stamped the Lil Hombre, colored and cut him out. The final touches were the bowl of dip and taco on the recipe card itself. All of these stamps are in this one set of stamps!

Have a creative week!!

I decided to do a treat box for either s student or a teacher.
I started by printing some notebook paper from the Man O Man paper Pack 1 for my box cover.
I then cut and paper pieced the super fun school bus from the Back to School cutting file set. The apple in the middle of my sentiment circle is also cut from the Back to School.
For the inside treats, I covered chocolate nuggets with some printed school bus wrappers that I found here. I used a simple black marker to draw on the wheels on each side of the candies.
The box, scallop and sentiment are all from My Creative Time.

DCD Back To School

It's Tuesday and time for another Die Cuttin' Diva's challenge. This week we want to see all your projects for Back to School.

I wanted to do more of a 3D project this week and what more symbolic for back to school than a back pack.

This little back pack can be found on the Campin' Critters Cartridge. I simply eliminated the blanket roll part that is normally on the top.

I will be filling this with treats or  maybe cookies for a special little student.

Be sure to stop by the Die Cuttin' Diva's blog this week to see the DT inspiration projects and link a project. I look forward to seeing how this color challenge inspires you.

Donuts from Lulu.

Hey ya'll, it's Monday and that means it's DT day for me over at Stamp Annie thing stamps.

For this weeks project I scrapped a recipe for donuts that belonged to my husbands grandmother. I first discovered these donuts at her house when we were dating. Oh, how I miss them but at least I have the recipe.
I called upon Lulu from the Lulu's Valentines Day stamp set to do my recipe page. I like how she looks like she is  writing down the recipe.

For the banner I used stamps and dies from My Creative Team and some stickers I had in my stash.

My Goal is to try and make these donuts this fall though I am sure they will not taste the same.

Spa-cial Treats!

As I write this post, I am wrapping up my final night of a wonderful scrapping weekend.
If you have read my blog this weekend, you know I was scrapping with a couple of my favorite gals and in doing so, I always like to craft special treats for them each day.

I can finally let you in on the last treat I gave them, a Spa-cial treat for sure.
I created these little treat bags using the super cute slumber party cut file from SVG Cutting Files and the new purse treat holder box from Jaded Blossom. Good thing I got my order so quickly last Thursday so I could have these ready to go on Friday- thanks Candace for super fast shipping!!

The treat bags are filled with spa items I found at Michael's...compact mirror, nail file, nail clipper, etc. To go with these items I made homemade sugar hand scrub. I scrap lifted the idea from Michelle over at Scrappin' with my Bug.
I found the jars at Joann's, they are about 3" tall. I added some trim around the jar and then the sentiment from the Jaded Blossom Pamper Yourself stamp set.

Hope you all had a fantastic weekend as well.

It's a Party!

Well, my Scrappin' weekend continues. If you saw my post yesterday, you saw I did a little treat for the gals I'm hangin' with this weekend. We're having so much fun. When we get together, we all like to do little treats for each other. Today on my work table, I received a treat box with candies and white card stock. Thanks Roxy!!

Here is the treat I did for them yesterday. What scrapper doesn't need extra adhesive, ink and embellishments.
This was for the first full day of scrappin' so I thought the "Party Time" sentiment was perfect to kick off our little paper party. And, check out those crafty die cuts. I found them over at SVG Cutting files. So cute!!

I have one more surprise in store for them. I will share that with you later today.

The pattern card stock I used is from Doodlebug Designs, the sentiment is from Jaded Blossoms Birthday Candies and the die cuts are from SVG Cutting Files.

Happy crafting!

Let's hang out!

This weekend I get to hang out and scrap with my aunt and friend in northern MN.
I came across this cute light bulb glass jar and thought they would be fun to make as a treat for each of them.
The tag is from the silhouette store. The sentiments and light bulb die are all from My Creative Time.
I filled the jars with Sixlets chocolate candies. I think this bulb shaped jar is so cute and would be great as a gift for many occasions.

Stay tuned this weekend for my surprise treats I have for my crafting friends during our scrappin' weekend.

Pretty Paper, Pretty Ribbons Design Day

I realize that you can never have too many get well cards in your stash. There always seems to be a need to send a card to someone that is just a bit under the weather.
And what better to cheer someone up than a happy little green frog!
Today is design day for me at Pretty Paper, Pretty Ribbons.
This adorable frog is from the  Rainy Day Critters file set. I added glossy accents to his raincoat, umbrella and boats. It's hard to see in the photo. He just makes me smile when I look at him.

Please stop by the Pretty Paper, Pretty Ribbons blog to see the fantastic projects the other DT members have created for you this week.

Die Cuttin' Diva's Challenge~ Orange and White.

It's Tuesday and time for another Die Cuttin' Diva's challenge. This week we want to see all your projects using the colors orange and white.
My card is quite simple this week. I used a flower cut from the Walk in My Garden Cricut cartridge and used a button for the center. A simple elegant sentiment completed my simply orange card. I have to say this was a true challenge for me. First only two colors and then one of them being orange, yikes!

BE sure to stop by the Die Cuttin' Diva's blog this week to see the DT inspiration projects and link a project. I look forward to seeing how this color challenge inspires you.

Thank you in Pink

Happy Monday and welcome to my design day for Stamp Annie Thing stamps.
I needed a quick and simple Thank You card so I turned to a couple of my Stamp Annie Thing Stamps, Party in the USA and One Cool Cat to get the job done.
I used the rose flower design three times, colored it with a simple pink and green marker, nothing fancy. I then added them in a single row down the side of my card. The Thank you sentiment is from the One Cool Cat set. This could easily be changed to say Congratulations, Hello, Happy Birthday, etc. to make a whole set of these cards.

That's what's fun about mixing and matching the Stamp Annie Thing stamp sets and  what makes these stamps so great to have in your collection.

The bottom of the card is embossed with a paisley design from Cuttlebug. I added some ribbon and some black dots to finish the look.

Have a super crafty week!

Happy Beer Day!

I have been out of town most of this week in Hartford on business but home today, Yeah!

A friend of mine had a birthday the other day and loves to try different types of beers. After finding this very large bottle of beer, I decided to do a bottle tag card for it.
I used the Bird from the Life's a Party Cricut cartridge and the beer mug from Everyday Pop up Cards. The tag itself is an SVG file from SVG Cutting files.
I added some stickles and glossy accents to the beer mug and some feather trim to the bird. The sentiment is a combo of a couple different stamps that I cut apart to get the exact sentiment I wanted. Hope you all have a  Happy "Beer" day and crafty weekend!

Die Cuttin' Diva's Sketch Challenge

Welcome to another fabulous Die Cuttin' Diva's Tuesday challenge. This week we have a great sketch to work off of.
I decided to go back to one of my all time favorite Cricut carts for this one, Create a Critter.
I used the cute squirrel on this cartridge. I popped him up on a background oval cut from the Elegant Edges cartridge. The sentiment is from my very own Candy Speaks stamp set. You can find it on the right side bar of my blog if you want to grab it for yourself.

I hope you will join us for a great challenge this week. I have been on vacation and not feeling real well this past week so I am anxious to get back to my crafting and commenting on all your wonderful projects. Be sure to stop by the Die Cuttin' Diva blog here to check the sketch and what other great inspiration projects the DT has done for you.

Have a super week!

Little packages of Big Wishes!

Happy Monday. It's another DT team day for me over at Stamp Annie Thing Stamps. For my project today I am using the recently released stamp set, Wish Big.

I always seem to be searching for a little card to go with those gifts you give in a gift bag. Well, the Wish Big stamp set worked perfectly for my mini gift cards today. I did four of them so I have a few on hand.

Each card measures 3"x3". I cut scalloped medallions at 2.5" for the stamped image. Did a little coloring and embellishing with my black marker and I was on my way to the party.

Give this little stamp set a good look for all those Birthday card needs. Check it out here.
