Mother's Day Cascading card

Over at Ginger Snap Scraps, the DT is posting Mother's Day inspired projects.
I recently saw a tutorial for a cascading card here at My Crafty Life. It looked fairly straight forward so thought I would give it a try. It was so easy to follow. The hard part was decorating it.
Looks Like a bouquet of flowers

When the card is flat to mail
I am pretty happy with how it turned out for the first time.
I am stuck on using these great papers from the Lawn Fawn Paper pack. Can't seem to get enough of them.
This and the twine from Twinery can be found in the Ginger Snap Scraps store.

I am also linking this up to the following...Hope you stop over at all these great blogs and join in.

Spring is Almost Here!

Wow- what a change in temperature this week. The snow in MN is melting quickly. Temps are expected to be near 50 today so that will help melt more of the snow. This means that my flowers will soon be peeking through the ground. I love spring. Everything is new and fresh.

Emma at My Creative Time has a Throwback Thursday challenge posted today. The challenge is to use the Walk in My Garden Cartridge. How fitting as I am thinking about my flowers. I am also submitting this card for this challenge over at Queen of my Craftroom and Cardz TV Challenge.
This was a bit tricky to get the base of the card to line up correctly so when folded the front and back will match.

Using my Gypsy, I used the shadow blackout button and welded the flower pot and flowers together and then added a square behind the flowers for more stability. I then Sized it to an close A2 size card.

Once all that was sized and all welded together, I copied it and positioned it to the left  side of the first one, then flipped it horizontally. This is very important or your card may not match up exactly when folded. I welded another square between the two parts so when folded it was not folding on the corner of the flower pot. I also used pop dots on the top layer of the flower pot for some dimension

Then I got to work cutting the fun stuff... all the layers.
All cuts are from Walk in My Garden Cricut Cartridge.

Here's how I did it....
Blue paper base and white card stock from Bazzill
