I'm a Guest Designer Today!!

Happy Tuesday!

I am so excited because today I am a Guest Designer over at Cooking with Cricut. 

This is one of my favorite challenge sites not to mention the great projects and ideas they have each week.

For my Guest Designer spot, I have created this Diva Card using one of my favorite cartridges, Pack Your Bags. 

I think it is one of my favorites because the images are all about travel. I love to travel and travel a lot for work, so I use this cartridge often when scrapping.

I find many of the cuts can be modified slightly for other purposes other than travel or beach scenes. 

 

Example, my card today features this gal with a drink in her hand. She could be strolling in the sun sipping lemonade. But in my case, I gave her a stylish purse and now she's a shopping diva!!

Hopefully she's shopping for scrapbooking supplies.

 

Hope this inspires you to use this cartridge for things other than travel related ones.

Card base is standard A2 size cut using Elegant edges

Pattern is October Afternoon, all other paper is from my scrap stash

Scallop mat cut at 4" x 5.25" from Elegant Edges

It is Tuesday and I am having so much fun chatting with everyone about my new stamp set.

I have had such great response, I have started working on two more set! I think they are turning out better than this one. 

  

I put together some quick little note cards using the Pack Your Bags cart and of course my new stamps.

I made several and plan to do more to have on hand. I stamped the inside with Thank You, but this card is so versatile, it could be for anything. 

I will be linking this project to the Scrappy Moms Terrific Tuesday Challenge which is to use the Pack Your Bags cartridge this week.

Here's how I did it….
Card base is a 3" square

Grillin n Chillin Bug Hop Part 2!!

Welcome to BugBites first ever 
Bug Hop Part 2!

To celebrate the beginning of summer, I am hosting two consecutive weekends of Bug Hops.

If you joined us last weekend, welcome back.

This weekend is part 2 or all about Chillin’. Chillin' can mean many things to many people. For me it is sitting in a lawn chair on the deck or on my front porch with a cold beverage just enjoying the outdoors without having to have 12 layers of clothes and a parka on. 

It can also mean, taking a dip in the water and wiggling your toes in the sand at the beach.
Whatever it means to you, that is what this weekends hop is celebrating.
 

This card is my idea of Chillin'!

 I used another of my favorite carts, Pack Your Bags.  The sentiment is my own- more on that to come later. 
The postage stamp background was cut at 5" from page 60; the island was cut at 4.26" from p.45 and the lounging gal from p. 59 cut at 2.37". the sunny paper happened to have that sunburst on it- I just positioned it to cut in the right spot.

Splish Splash and a Chillin' Bug Hop is almost here!

Wow- we go from spring to hot and sticky summer. Today is actually quite nice, a bit of sunshine and a light breeze. But when it gets steamy, thisis what looks good to me. Sitting in a tube in the middle of the lake. 

You could say this little gal is Chillin'!

She is just in time for the Grillin' & Chillin' Bug Hop coming your way on Saturday. 

I had the bug hop theme in mind when making this card, but then saw the challenge over at Cricut Cardz Challenge this week  is to use the card feature from any cart.

So I decided to give that a try. I also stickled on all the white lines in the water paper to make is shimmer like when the sun hits the water at the lake.
