Well, here it is. My first post as a Guest Designer. I am so excited!!!
Paula over at More Than Favors asked me to be her Guest Designer for this weeks Wacky Wednesday Challenge.
The challenge this week is a color challenge using the colors blue, yellow and white.
I needed to make a get well card for a very dear aunt of mine who has been a bit under the weather this last week. Therefore, she was the inspiration for my project. She too, is a big time card maker, scrapper and paper crafter.
I just got the Nate's ABC cartridge this week. When I was looking through the booklet, I came across the umbrella cut and knew instantly, this would be the image for my card to match a sentiment I had been working on. This is a bit of an odd sized card measuring in at 4.5" x 5.25"
Here's how I did it...
Bazzill navy and yellow paper
Pattern paper for frame; Piggy Tales-Morning
Pattern paper for umbrella;CM Cheerful Winter pack
All other paper from my scrap stash
Umbrella and layers cut approx 2.75" from Nate's ABCs p.37
Frame and shadow cut approx 4.5" from Reminisce Accents p. 47
Swiss dots embossing folder for yellow boots
Pop dots for frame and boots
Sentiment on card front and inside are my own printed on my computer
EK Border punch for inside frame
Glossy Accents, chalk, yellow & brown stickles as well as doodles with my white gel pen
Addition details:
I used my Gypsy to weld the image to the frame from the Creative Memories Reminisce Accents cartridge. I hid many of the little lines on the main image. Cut the frame again using the pattern floral paper without the umbrella image.
I wanted the water puddle to look more like water, so I added Glossy Accents, it is hard to see it in the picture. Once that was dry, I layered everything starting with the frame shadow then add the welded frame image. Next added all the umbrella layers except the boots. Add floral frame with pop-dots. Finally, I added the yellow boots with more pop dots.
When cutting the boots, you actually have to cut the whole image and then trim the boots out.
