King of the BBQ!

Happy Monday!!

It's my day over at the Jaded Blossom Blog to share a project with using this months featured stamp set, King of the BBQ.

Ther are many BBQ's in the future for all for this summer. A great bottle of wine or 6 pack of beer is a perfect gift for the hosting grill master. 

I added a BBQ themed tag to my host gift using the JB Wine Tag die.

I went back to my cricut cartridges to find the hot dog and Apron. The cuts can be found Block Party Cricut Cartridge.

The sentiment of course is from the King of the BBQ stamp set.

It's Saturday and there's an Oktoberfest party in my future!

Happy Saturday everyone. I haven't had time to get the pictures from my Mediterranean Cruise off the camera yet to post. I will work on that tomorrow.

Last night and this morning I was baking a Black Forest Chocolate Cherry cake for an annual Oktoberfest party we are going to today. This is the 24th year for this gathering of good friends and family.

I finish up the cake just a few minutes ago decorated with chocolate shavings and red cherries on top.

I wanted to make a card for the host and hostess so I decided I would try a step card.

Yes, can you believe I have never made a step card before. I don't know what I was waiting for. Now I am hooked- they are so much fun.

 

I wanted to be sure I included all the things I think about when I think of this party and Oktoberfest, Germany, pretzels, music, brats, and of course the beer. 

I am pretty happy with how it turned out.

It's a Bug Hop!

Welcome to BugBites first ever Bug Hop!

To celebrate the beginning of summer, I am hosting two consecutive weekends of Bug Hops.

This weekend it is all about the Grillin’, at least that is what I think of when I think of summer.

  
The smell of charcoal, sitting in the sun on the deck and juicy burgers- that's summer! Block Party is a great cartridge for summer party fun. This 5x7 card is great for a guys birthday or Father's day. I cut the grill king at 5" and the grill slightly smaller. I used the elegant edges cart for the banner after printing my own sentiment.

 

Each designer along the bug hop trail is also featuring a project based on the Grillin’ & Chillin’ theme to inspire you -- they have done an awesome job.  I can't wait for you to see what they have in store for you.

Fantabulous Cricut Challenge Me Monday #58 - Flower Shower

It's Monday and time for another Fantabulous Cricut Challenge Me Monday project.

The challenge this week is to make a project with at least three flowers on it. 

This card could be used for Mother's Day, given to a friend, as a Birthday card, and more.  I may have to make a stack in multiple colors to have on hand. I really like the little girl. Found her on the Block Party Lite Cartridge.

The trick is to cut her big enough since there are many little pieces.

Tea Time

First week of January is already gone- wow.

Friends and family who know me, know that I like to try new recipes as well as scrap them.

I love participating in recipe scrap swaps as well and have hosted several the last few years. It's fun to get new recipes from others and to see their creative styles on the pages.

 

Who knows- perhaps a recipe swap on this blog is in the future.

I scrap my recipes to an 8x8 page size. Gives me enough space to add fun details and still be able to read the recipe. Soon I will have a tab at the top of the blog where I will keep all the recipe pages in one spot so for you foodies, it will be quick and easy to find them.

On to the first recipe post....

When I am not blogging, I am a full time meeting planner so I travel quite a bit. I love to gather recipes from the places I travel and the chefs I work with. Below is a recipe I received a few years ago when I was in Las Vegas. I make this recipe all the time.

I do not recall the paper I used because I am usually using scraps, but the letters are cut from the Mickey Font and the gal serving tea is from the Cricut Lite Cart, Block Party. I used a Martha Stewart border punch on the white card stock, added stickles and some buttons. Hope you have a chance to try them.
