Answer: Boxes and Thread.
I am back to concentrating on entering some things into some challenges today.
One of my favorite challenge spots to hang out is My Craft Spot and this week the challenge is to create a gift bag or box. Then there is The Paper Variety's challenge today to use threads on your project.
I know everyone is concentrating on Back to School but I just can't get into that. I don't have small children at home so I just do not get all that excited about it.
So, I am onto thinking about fall and Halloween projects.
I have a few gift boxes to share with you.
First up, is a box I did on my gypsy that I plan to will fill with a couple large pumpkin sugar cookies.
I used the Tags, Bags, Boxes and More cart and then took a shape from Paper Doll Dress Up for a custom window box top.
The threads on this project come from the cheese cloth I tore up into strips and wrapped around my little mummy, cut at 4/74" from Paper Doll Dress Up.
The box top is 7.12" x 9.58" with the coffin shape placed on top at 10".
This box top has a rectangle opening so you have to hide that first.
The box bottom was cut at 9.41" x 7". I then glued a piece of clear acetate to the inside cover for a clear window and lined the bottom of the box with another piece of card stock for stability.
this box would be cute with a Dracula or Witch on it as well.
I should start working on those next.
My next treat box is for candy treats. I's my count box.
The box itself is cut from the Happy Hauntings cart at 10"- a bit tricky to get it all glued together with so many little folds and tabs. It folds up to 3.5" wide by 6" tall.
I used the bottom for the top and the top for the bottom of the box because I liked the scallop top showing on the top.
Papers again are from my stash.
Count and his batty friend are cut at 4" from Paper Doll Dress Up.
The face is Peachy Keen and the Sentiment is from My Pink Stamper.
Hope you get inspired to create your own treat boxes or projects with threads and link them up to these great challenge blogs.
