It's Saturday and there's an Oktoberfest party in my future!

Happy Saturday everyone. I haven't had time to get the pictures from my Mediterranean Cruise off the camera yet to post. I will work on that tomorrow.

Last night and this morning I was baking a Black Forest Chocolate Cherry cake for an annual Oktoberfest party we are going to today. This is the 24th year for this gathering of good friends and family.

I finish up the cake just a few minutes ago decorated with chocolate shavings and red cherries on top.

I wanted to make a card for the host and hostess so I decided I would try a step card.

Yes, can you believe I have never made a step card before. I don't know what I was waiting for. Now I am hooked- they are so much fun.

I wanted to be sure I included all the things I think about when I think of this party and Oktoberfest, Germany, pretzels, music, brats, and of course the beer.

I am pretty happy with how it turned out.

Hope you all are finding time to be with friends this holiday weekend.
I will post some pictures tomorrow.

Here's how I did it...
Paper from my stash
German guy/layers cut at 3.25" from Everyday Paper Dolls- I trimmed his pants off to be shorts
Hat cut at 2.15" from Paper Doll Dress Up
Feather cut at .81" from Straight from the Nest
Barrel/layers cut 2" from Paper Doll Dress Up
Beer mugs/layers cut at 1" and 1.36"  from Everyday Pop-Up Cards
Pretzels cut at 11.46" (yes this is correct) from From My Kitchen
Brat/layers cut at .39" from Block Party
Flag/layers cut at 4.92" from Everyday Paper Dolls
Banner flags/layers cut 2.2" from Birthday Bash
PROST letters printed on my computer and hand cut
Face stamped using Peachy Keen Boy Mates Faces and Accessories Assortment stamp sets
Twine from the Twinery
Button from my stash
Martha Stewart border punch
Mini brads from my stash
Oktoberfest label on barrel printed from my computer
Lots of pop dots, doodles with my gel pen and shimmer from my new gelly roll glitter pen.
Yellow stickles for mustard on the brat

Barb, This card is awesome I love everything about it. I especially like that you printed the October fest label off your computer. The step part looks pretty good.
I have not made a step card yet. I see that in my near future.
I would just love to have a piece of that awesome sounding cake.
I better stop or you will miss being with the guests -- Have fun!
