Frosted Designs Friday Challenge - Circles

Oh My Goodness- I had this post ready to go and forgot to click the post button this morning.
I am in beautiful San Juan this weekend on business. A bit warm and  humid, but so pretty.

This week over at Frosted Designs the challenge is to create a project with circles.

I found a really pretty rose image in the Imagine More Cards cartridge. I printed the layers and then added them to a  round base card from Wild Card with a little bakers twine and lots of pop dots.

The Sentiment is from My Pink Stamper on a tag with a couple brads.
I am really enjoying the Imagine, but need to play alot more with it so I really use all the features.

Have a great weekend!

It's my favorite day of the week- Friday!

That means there is another awesome challenge going on over at Cricut 360.

This week we are inspired to create a card or layout with travel in mind.

Well, I will be traveling the end of the month on a cruise ship in the Mediterranean so with that on my mind, I had to use a ship for this project.
I used lots of pop dots and attached the ship with a wobble spring to get the feel of the rolling waves of the ocean.

Hello everyone. Hope you are all enjoying the wonderful summer weekends.
I can't believe it is almost August.

I do love this time of summer because the produce and fruits are really good this time of year. On hot summer days, I especially love watermelon.

So when this weeks Fantabulous Cricut Challenge Me Monday challenge was Melon time, it had to be a watermelon cut in some way on the project.

Food Fare Friday a Little Late

Hope you are enjoying your weekend.

Looks like some interesting things coming up from what I am seeing from all the posts from CHA this past week. How about that Cricut mini?
Boy, will this be great. A Cricut I can travel with easily- yeah!

For other news in my world, I have been working on a project for months and I am so excited that I can finally reveal it coming up the week of August 1. I can't wait to share the news. It is going to be a week of fun you won't want to miss.

Because I have been working on this project and traveling on business quite a bit the last two weeks, I lost track of posting a Food Fare project. So here is what I did.
I love sharing recipes and doing recipe exchanges. I also love to scrap my recipes. My goal is to get all my favorites scrapped so I have fun recipes to look at when I cook. This is a huge project because there are so many great recipes.

I got this recipe years ago from someone I worked with. This has become a favorite in my house and I have shared it with many friends who love it as well.

Sometimes the Food Fare recipes are hard to read. So if at anytime there is one you want and cannot read it well, please drop me a note and I will be glad to send it to you.

I will be linking this up to the Cooking with Cricut Challenge this week which is to use Lollipops- how fun!!

Here's How I did it.....

Cricut 360 Challenge #4- The Great Outdoors

Yeah- it's Friday again and that means another Cricut 360 Challenge.
This week the challenge is create a card or layout with the great outdoors in mind.

I went straight to my Camp Out Cartridge and found a great moon, owl and tree branch.

Yes, you are correct. That is not the owl from the Camp Out cartridge.
When I started cutting and piecing everything together the owl I had chosen just did  not have the feel I wanted - almost looked too scary.

So I started searching my gypsy for owls and found this adorable one on the Sentimentals cart.
I trimmed off his tail and glued it behind the branch so he would look more dimensional sitting on the tree branch. I then put pop dots behind the owl body and more behind his eyes- I wanted them really to stand out.
I am happy with my little owly friend.

Please hope over to Cricut 360 and check out all the other inspiration projects and please give this challenge a try. I would love to see what you come up with.

Here's how I did it...

All other paper is from my scrap stash

Branch/layers cut at 3" from Camp Out
Owl/layers cut at 3.21" from Sentimentals

Warm Apple Pie and Picnics!

This card makes me wish for fresh apple pie with cinnamon ice cream.
I wanted this to look like a pie sitting in an open window on a warm summer day. The wood grain paper helps the perception of the trim around the window.

Once cool it is ready for a picnic or friends that may stop over.

I will be linking this up to the Let's Eat Challenge on the Cricut Circle Blog. The challenge is to create a project with a BBQ, Picnic, or Patio theme and use a gingham or check patterned.

Robyn over at My Pink Stamper is having a Design Team call and the deadline is midnight tonight. I have been traveling on business for over a week and just got home late last night so had to work on this tonight and hope that I get it posted in time.

Thank you to a friend

I am on my last morning in Hartford. Heading home tonight- yeah!

I was lucky enough to spend some time with a some work friends while here.
One friend, invited me over twice for dinner at her house. We had a very nice time, so I wanted to do a little thank you card for her.

I only brought a few die cuts with me, so it was a challenge all week to use them with what I had.
Did I mention before, I left home without a paper trimmer. Yikes!

Well, this friend is a scrapper too and loaned me her trimmer for the last half of the week.

So here is my Thank You to her.

Birthday Sundaes Challenge

Well, I am really tired from the busy week on my feet. Today I was out in the heat for 12 hours at my golf event. I have finally gotten back to the hotel, had a little room service and put together a quick card with die cuts from my stash that I brought with me. This card was done for this weeks Birthday Sundaes Challenge- Anything goes.
I tried the Crackle Accents on the round background shape to see how much texture it would really create. I think it gives it a unique finish.

Frosted Designs Fabulous Friday Challenge - Quote That

The challenge this week at Frosted Designs is Quote That.

To go along with this weeks sponsor, Quick Quotes, I picked up a cute quote from my craft store.

For those of you that have been wondering the name of my favorite craft store--it is Crafts Direct in St. Cloud, MN- locally owned, but huge!

Now back to the project.

This is a z-fold card and I am back to using yet another cut from my favorite cartridge, Campin' Critters!

When you open it up, it reveals the quick quote I chose.

Fits well with this little critter roasting a marshmallow.

The gold colored mat shapes were left over from me experimenting with the Imagine. I was trying to cut the mats for another project by printing and cutting the shape with the imagine. The first ones did not turn out, so I saved them. They were a perfect fir for this card.

So my take away- never toss a cut that did not work- you might need it later.

Here's how I did it....
Card base is z-fold using kraft paper.
Paper from my stash
Gold mat printed and cut with my Imagine using the Imagine More Cart
Critter/layers cut at 3.75" from Campin'  Critters

A Birthday Sundaes Challenge Entry

It is Thursday already--My time in Hartford is going well. Nice day to be outside at the golf course today.
It rained just a bit late afternoon, only to reveal not jut a rainbow, but a full, complete double rainbow. Don't get to see that very often. It was spectacular.

So, here is my little creation today from my hotel.

I had cut the base card and lion before I left home, but had no idea what I would to with them.
Well, Birthday Sundaes has a challenge to use green, orange and white this week.

Fortunately, I brought MPS Spectacular Sayings along with me that had this Birthday sentiment.

Here's how I did it...

Paper is from my scrap stash
Base card cut at 4.25" from Birthday Bash
Lion/layers cut at 2.73" from Life's a Party
Hat/layers cut at 1.36" from Birthday Bash
Tag, left over from my stash of cuts that I did not use. It was originally printed and cut with the Imagine More cartridge and then was trimmed to fit the sentiment.

Hot Weather - Cool Card!

Boy, it is hot here in Hartford this week. Yes, even at 4:30 in the morning it is still hot. This is a really early post, but by the time you read it I am probably on my way to work my event today. It is a golf event that starts with breakfast prior to the early tee times.

It's going to be a long, hot day.  All I will be thinking about is the pool- or in my case, a cool shower at the hotel.

So here is to all you wonderful bloggers and readers that are lucky enough to have a pool.

I saw an idea where someone had used a cloud stamp to make waves. So here is my attempt.
I will be back tomorrow with a card if I have the energy to do it after work tonight.

I will be linking this up to My Craft Spot's Monday Challenge - Inking it up and
Die Cuttin Divas Summer Fun challenge.

It's Tuesday and a challenge card.

It's Tuesday and I made it safely to Hartford CT. Found my way to my favorite scrap store here, Wiggles & Giggles. Found some new papers, a stamp and a few other things.

I had a great dinner with a friend here and got back to my hotel about 10pm.
I had cut out the parts for this card and now while watching the news, glued it all together.

My husband laughed at me and said half my luggage was scrapping stuff. What can I say- a scrappin' girl needs a few things when on the road for more than a day or two.

Here we are at another weekend.

The Ice Cream on the Beach Blog Hop over at Frosted Designs is still going on. I have some blog candy I am giving away for that too. You can find my post here

Not sure where all of you are at, but it is really warm and humid here in MN so the beach and an ice cream treat is a great way to cool off. I am sure I sweat enough calories away to justify it...LOL!

The Tacky Tuesday Challenge this week is also for a sweet treat and Scrapalicious USA 's challenge is to  use turquoise.

It is so cute. The die goes through the Cuttlebug and then the stamps come with it for the face.

Frosted Designs Blog Hop

Welcome to the Frosted Designs Ice cream on the Beach Blog Hop/weekly challenge and 1st Anniversary.

if you are coming over from Krissinia you're in the right spot. if you just stopped by and want to start from the beginning, click here.

For my blog hop project, I challenged myself to include:
Blog Hop theme - Ice Cream on the Beach
Challenge theme - Ribbon/fancy/trim,charm,rhinestone/pearls for this week
Birthday theme - to celebrate Frosted Designs 1st Birthday.
Phew- that was a challenge to get all this into one little card.

I was asked recently...
What size LO do you prefer or do you prefer cards.
My Answer: Prefer cards
Yup- seems that is my go to project type lately since it can be quick.

Now for the project this week....
I came up with my little swimmer who just got out of the water and now is looking to see what direction to go for ice cream. Not only does he see the sign for ice cream, he is wished a Happy Birthday and stumbles along a treasure of oyster shells filled with pearls.
  • I used several cartridges for this card....
  • H2O for the swimmer and sun
  • Pooh and Friends for the sign
  • Sponge Bob, Square Pants for the fish
  • Birthday Bash for the ice cream cone
  • Life's a Beach for the crab
  • Stretch Your Imagination for the shells
  • Imagine cartridge Better Together for the blue paper background
I think this is a record of carts used on one project for me.

I added some lace at the waters edge to look like white caps on the water. Added some pearls inside the oyster shells, google eyes on the crab, some brads on the signs that look like screws, and a charm I found of a flipper and swim goggles.
I added glossy accents to the swim mask and flippers on my swimmer.
Finally, I used the Swiss Dots and Divine Swirls embossing folders for the sandy beach
I used several stamps--MPS More Punny-licious, Scrappy Moms Kids Incorpated, and PKS Boy Mates Face stamp sets.

Now we can't have a blog hop without some Blog Candy.

Wacky Wednesday Challenge

Well, happy Tuesday, I guess- sure feels like a Monday though.

Last night I was, what would the guys in my house call, multi-tasking. That is creating on my gypsy while watching TV.

This was a card I did with the Cricut Cartridge Chaos Challenge in mind which is to use any cut from the Wild Card cartridge.

There are so many different options on this cart. I challenged myself with using a cut that may be overlooked- the lattice/diamond background.

The birds are from the Songbird cart. This cartridge does not have layers, so I cut all my pieces multiple times and trimmed away what I did not want from each to get the look I wanted.

Here's how I did it....
Standard A2 cad base of off white card stock
Lattice background cut at 4"x5.35" from Wild Card
Bird on branch/layers cut at 2.18" from Songbird
Bird in Bird Bath/layers cut at 2.18" from Songbird
Tag cut from Once Upon A Princess
Sentiment from MPS Everyday Occasion stamp set
Brads and ribbon from my stash
Lots of chalk and doodles with my gel pen
